Pre-Care Instructions for CO2 Fractional Laser

  3. Hydrate: Drink plenty of water and keep your skin moisturized.
  4. Avoid Tanning: No tanning beds or spray tans 2 weeks before treatment.
  5. Inform Your Doctor: Tell your provider about any history of cold sores, infections, or skin conditions.
  6. No Waxing or Hair Removal: Avoid waxing or other hair removal methods on the treatment area for about 1 week prior.
  7. Arrange Downtime: Plan for some recovery time post-treatment as redness and peeling can occur.

  1. Keep Skin Clean and Moisturized: Gently cleanse with a mild cleanser and apply a recommended ointment or moisturizer to keep the area hydrated.
  2. Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of the sun and use a high-SPF sunscreen daily.
  3. No Picking or Scrubbing: Do not pick at peeling skin or scabs to avoid scarring.
  4. Avoid Makeup: Avoid applying makeup until the skin has healed or as advised by your provider.
  5. Use Cold Compresses: To reduce swelling and discomfort, apply cool compresses as needed.
  6. Avoid Hot Showers and Sweating: For at least 48 hours, avoid activities that cause sweating or expose skin to heat.
  7. Avoid Swimming: Stay away from pools, hot tubs, and saunas until fully healed.
  8. Follow Up: Attend follow-up appointments as scheduled for evaluation and further guidance.
  9. Watch for Infection: Contact your doctor if you notice increased redness, swelling, pus, or severe pain.
