Pre-Care for Botox
To prepare for a Botox treatment:
Don’t drink alcohol for at least 24 hours before treatment.
- Inform them about:
- Pregnancy/breastfeeding
- Medical conditions (esp. neuromuscular disorders)
- Past Botox or filler treatments
- Medications you’re on (esp. antibiotics or muscle relaxants)
- Reschedule if you’re sick (cold, flu, infection, etc.).
Post-Care for Botox
Follow these steps to ensure the best results and avoid complications:
- Stay upright for 4 hours after treatment.
- Avoid lying down or bending over to prevent Botox from migrating.
- Don’t rub, massage, or apply pressure to treated areas for 24 hours.
- Avoid facials, facial massages, and dermal treatments for at least 24–48 hours.
- Avoid intense exercise for 24 hours.
- Light walking is fine, but no vigorous workouts.
- No hot tubs, saunas, tanning beds, or long hot showers for 24 hours.
Avoid both for 24 hours post-treatment
Gently move facial muscles (smile, frown) in the treated areas to help Botox settle.
When to See Results & Follow Up
- Effects begin: 3–5 days
- Full results: 7–14 days
- Duration: 3–4 months
- Follow-up: Some providers offer touch-ups after 2 weeks if needed.
